Mexico's economic activity up in January

Mexico’s economic activity in January rose 1.2 percent, year-on-year, and 0.2 percent, month-on-month, local statistics agency Inegi said on Monday.

Government data indicated primary activities in January improved 3 percent, year-on-year, while secondary activities in the same period dropped 1.1 percent.

Inegi said tertiary activities in January increased 2.3 percent, also on a year-on-year analysis.

Mexican primary activities in January grew 0.3 percent, month-on-month. Likewise, secondary and tertiary activities in the first month of year improved 0.6 and 0.3 percent, both on a month-on-month analysis.
