Mexico's AHMSA reduces net loss in Q4

Mexican integrated steelmaker Altos Hornos de Mexico (AHMSA) managed to reduce its net loss in Q4 2017 to MXN 959 million ($51 million) from MXN 1.9 billion ($101.9 million) in Q4 2016, on increased revenues and EBITDA.

The company said EBITDA in Q4 was MXN 677 million ($36 million), 75 percent up, year-on-year.

Net revenues in the last quarter of the year rose 13.4 percent, year-on-year, to MXN 14.6 billion ($780 million).

AHMSA said steel sales volumes in Q4 reached 989,000 mt.
