Mexico’s AHMSA posts reduced net loss in 2018

Mexican integrated steelmaker Altos Hornos de Mexico (AHMSA) posted a decreased net loss in the full year of 2018, which went from a loss of MXN 1.85 billion ($95.9 million) in 2017 to a loss of MXN 676 million ($35.1 million) in 2018, the company said this week while releasing its full-year results.

AHMSA said net revenues in the full year of 2018 totaled MXN 66.7 billion ($3.46 billion), 22 percent up, year-on-year. EBITDA in 2018 was MXN 5.53 billion ($287 million), 54 percent up, year-on-year.

AHMSA posted an operating profit of MXN 1.5 billion ($77.8 million) in 2018, reverting an operating loss of MXN 1.04 billion ($53.9 million) it reported in the full year of 2017.
