Mexico says its ready for fourth industrial revolution

Edgar Olvera Jiménez, secretary of Comunicaciones de la Secretaría de Comunicaciones y Transportes (SCT) in Mexico, said in a recent event for women in STEM that “the present federal administration has established the basis for the Mexican population to enter the fourth industrial revolution.”

Jiménez further noted that the governmental initiative includes an “important financial investment to prepare the younger generations for automation, robotics, and overall connectivity necessary in all sectors of production.” Students will be supported within the Puntos México Conectados program along with other educational programs to support the sciences, technology and engineering.
