Mexico’s economy secretariat, SE, said Friday it has started a probe of existing countervailing duties (CVD) already applied to the imports of Chinese galvanized wire mesh products, following a request from local producer Deacero on June 16 this year.

SE said the definite CVD of $2.08/kg applied in 2009 and renewed in 2013 for a further five years will be maintained, while investigations continue.

SE said the period of review of the existing definite CVD goes from April 1, 2016 to March 31, 2017, while the period of analysis starts on April 1, 2012, and ends on March 31, 2017.

The products subject to the probe fall under the HS codes 7314.19.03, 7314.19.99, 7314.31.01, 7314.41.01 and 7314.49.99.
