Mexico has opened a public consultation for its PROY-NMX-B-120-CANACERO-2018 regulation, which will replace the existing NMX-B-120-CANACERO-1987 norm, both of which are overseen and set by local steel association Canacero.

The PROY-NMX-B-120-CANACERO-2018 norm sets the probe methods for impact testing metals materials in bars under the Charpy and Izod methods. Both methods are popular for determining impact strength or toughness of a material.

The interested parties will have 60 days to submit their comments over the proposed regulation.
