Mexico’s economy secretariat, SE, initiated antidumping investigations on the imports of ferromanganese from India this week, following a request from local manganese and ferroalloys producer Minera Autlán.

According to SE, the period of the investigation will go from April 1, 2014 to March 31, 2015, while the period of analysis of the damages and the causal relationship it had on the nation’s ferromanganese will go from April 1, 2012 to March 31, 2015.

SE said the arguments presented by Minera Autlán are sufficient to suggest the product was imported at dumped prices. Minera Autlán is Mexico’s only ferromanganese producer.
