Mexico initiates anti-dumping review on plate imports

It is declared that trade authorities in Mexico initiated an anti-dumping review on carbon plate imports from Romania, Russia and Ukraine as sufficient information evidencing that domestic steel industry was damaged by the imports during January-October 2002 period is received. The petitioner is reported to be Mexican integrated steel company Altos Hornos de Mexico SA (AHMSA). Product which is under the scope of anti-dumping review is described as; carbon plate 4.75-63.5 mm in thickness, 1422-3048 mm in width and 3810-12192 mm in length. The subject exporters subject to this review are Ispat Sidex, Severstal and Illych. Having said that, the deadline set for interested parties to submit their comments is set as March 15, 2003.
