Mexican industrial production slightly up in August

Mexican industrial output in August remained stable, with a slight 0.2 percent year-on-year growth in August, the nation’s statistics agency (Inegi) said on Friday. Mexican industrial production dropped 0.5 percent in August, on a month-on-month basis.

Industrial production in the mining and civil construction segments in August fell 4 percent, and 0.8 percent, year-on-year, respectively. On the other hand, industrial production in the local manufacturing sector in August rose 1.8 percent, year-on-year.

Industrial output in the mining sector in August improved 1 percent, month-on-month. Likewise, industrial production for the local manufacturing segment slightly increased 0.2 percent in August, also on a month-on-month basis.

Industrial production in the Mexican civil construction sector in August dropped 2.9 percent, month-on-month.
