Mexican industrial production declines in January

Mexican industrial output in January dropped 1.1 percent, year-on-year, local statistics agency Inegi said this week. On a month-on-month basis, industrial production rose 0.6 percent.

Inegi said industrial output in the local mining segment in January fell 10.5 percent, year-on-year. On the other hand, industrial output in the local civil construction and manufacturing sectors improved 0.6 and 1.3 percent, year-on-year, respectively.

Industrial production in the local mining sector in January grew 0.2 percent, month-on-month. Industrial output at the local civil construction and manufacturing industry sectors in January increased 2.9 percent and 0.2 percent, month-on-month, respectively.
