Mexican industrial output declines in February

Mexican industrial production in February dropped 0.9 percent, year-on-year, according to data released by the local statistics agency, Inegi. Output in February grew 0.3 percent on a month-on-month basis.

According to government data, industrial output in the local mining sector in February fell 6.5 percent, year-on-year. Similarly, industrial production in the local civil construction segment in February decreased 1.6 percent, year-on-year.

On the other hand, local industrial output in the manufacturing sector in February rose 1.2 percent, year-on-year.

Inegi said industrial output in the local mining and manufacturing segments in February improved 0.5 and 0.2 percent, month-on-month, respectively.

Local industrial production in the local civil construction segment in February declined 1 percent, also on a month-on-month analysis.
