Mexican economic activity up in May

Mexican economic activity in May rose 2.2 percent, year-on-year, and 0.5 percent, month-on-month, the nation’s statistics agency (Inegi) said on Monday.

According to Inegi, all primary, secondary and tertiary activities increased both on a year-on-year as well as on a month-on-month basis.

Primary and secondary activities in May improved 8.6 and 0.3 percent, year-on-year, while tertiary activities grew 2.8 percent in the same period. Likewise, primary and secondary activities in May increased 2.7 and 0.1 percent, month-on-month. Tertiary activities in May grew 0.6 percent, also on a month-on-month basis.
