Mexican economic activity increases in December

Mexican economic activity in December slightly improved 0.2 percent, year-on-year, according to data released by the local statistics agency, Inegi. On a month-on-month basis, economic activity dropped 0.4 percent.

Inegi said primary activities in December rose 4.8 percent, year-on-year. Secondary activities in the last month of the year fell 2.5 percent, year-on-year. On the other hand, tertiary activities in December grew 1.2 percent, year-on-year.

The statistics agency said primary activities in December declined 2.8 percent, month-on-month, while secondary activities in the same period decreased 0.4 percent, also on a month-on-month basis. Tertiary activities in December dropped 0.6 percent, month-on-month.
