Mexican economic activity declines slightly in September

Mexican economic activity in September declined 0.3 percent, year-on-year, according to data released this week by local statistics agency, Inegi, compared to a 0.3 percent increase month-on-month.

Primary and tertiary activities in September rose 8.6 percent and 0.2 percent, both on a year-on-year basis. On the other hand, secondary activities in September fell 2 percent, year-on-year.

Inegi said primary activities in September increased 4.1 percent, month-on-month. Secondary activities in September registered zero growth on a month-on-month basis, while tertiary activities in September improved 0.4 percent, also on a month-on-month analysis.
