Mexican crude steel output in the full year of 2017 rose 6.2 percent, year-on-year, to 20 million mt according to the country’s steel association, Canacero.

The increase in crude steel output was attributed to a 32 percent increase in the production of semi-finished steel products, which offset a decline in long steel output.

The production of steel pipes rose 0.1 percent in 2017, year-on-year.
