Mexican auto sales and exports up in October

Mexican auto production rose 11.1 percent year-on-year in October to 365,111 units, while exports increased 12.7 percent year-on-year to 287,465 units, according to the nation’s automotive industry association (AMIA).

Despite the year-on-year growth in both auto output and exports, domestic car sales in October dropped 10.2 percent, year-on-year, to 123,318 units.

As for the accumulated period of January to October this year auto production increased 10 percent year-on-year to 3.1 million units, while exports increased 11.7 percent year-on-year to 2.5 million units.

Domestic sales in the same period dropped 2.1 percent year-on-year to 1.2 million units.
