Mexican auto production and domestic sales down in July

Mexican auto production in July dropped 3.7 percent, year-on-year, to 291,577 units, the nation’s automotive industry association (AMIA) said on Monday. According to the trade group, Mexican domestic auto sales in July declined 6.4 percent, year-on-year, to 114,312 units.

AMIA said auto production in the accumulated period of January to July reached 2.2 million units, 0.1 percent up, year-on-year. On the other hand, domestic sales of cars in the same period fell 8.1 percent, year-on-year, to 795,011 units, AMIA said.
