Mexican auto production and domestic sales decline in October

Mexican auto output in October decreased 16.3 percent, year-on-year, to 311,150 units, the nation’s automotive industry association, AMIA, said. Mexican domestic sales of vehicles in October fell 8.9 percent, year-on-year, to 107,094 units. Mexican exports of cars in October totaled 252,292 units, 19.5 percent down, year-on-year.

As for the accumulated period of January to October, Mexican auto production declined 2.6 percent, year-on-year, to 3.24 million units. Exports of vehicles in the 10-month period reached 2.83 million units, 1.7 percent down, year-on-year. Domestic sales of autos in the January-October period dropped 7.7 percent, year-on-year, to 1.06 million units.
