Mexican auto production and domestic sales decline in June

Mexican auto production in June declined 29.2 percent, year-on-year, to 238,946 units, according to local automotive industry association, AMIA.

Domestic sales of vehicles in June reached 62,837 units, 41.1 percent down, year-on-year. Mexican exports of autos in June fell 38.7 percent, year-on-year, to 196,173 units.

As for the first half of the year (H1), AMIA said Mexican car output decreased 40.8 percent, year-on-year, to 1.17 million units. Domestic sales of autos in H1 fell 31.8 percent, year-on-year, to 436,445 units. Mexican exports of cars in H1 totaled 1.01 million units, 41.7 percent down, year-on-year.
