The iron ore subsidiaries of the Ukrainian mining and steel producing company Metinvest Holding (Metinvest) have issued their production results for the first month of 2010.
Accordingly, in January 2010, Metinvest's iron ore subsidiary Central GOK (CGOK) slightly increased its pellet output by 0.5 percent to 206,000 mt, but decreased its concentrate production by 3.5 percent to 501,700 mt, both compared to December 2009. Meanwhile compared to January 2009, the output of the products in question increased by 8.1 percent and 73.5 percent respectively.
During the first month of 2010, Severniy GOK (SevGOK) produced 1.25 million mt of concentrate - down 1.1 percent month on month but up 27.7 percent year on year, and 893,900 mt of pellets - down 6.2 percent month on month but up 46.4 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, during the month in question, Metinvest's Inguletskiy GOK (InGOK) registered a 0.8 percent decrease month on month in its concentrate output to 1.266 million mt, which represents an increase of 112.6 percent compared to January 2009.
In 2009, CGOK produced five million mt of concentrate and 2.22 million mt of pellets, SevGOK produced 13.76 million mt of concentrate and 9.44 million mt of pellets, and InGOK produced 11.88 million mt of concentrate.
