Metinvest’s crude steel output stable in Q1 compared to Q4

Ukrainian mining and steel producing group Metinvest has announced that in the first quarter this year its crude steel production remained stable quarter on quarter at 2.07 million mt. In addition, in the given quarter Metinvest also produced 6.68 million mt of iron ore concentrate, remaining stable compared to the previous quarter. In the first quarter, the company’s coal concentrate production increased by eight percent to 792,000 mt quarter on quarter.
  
In the given quarter, the group's output of finished steel products declined by three percent to 1.58 million mt compared to the fourth quarter. In addition, in the first quarter, Metinvest’s flat steel production rose by seven percent to 1.18 million mt, driven by a revival in demand, while its long steel production went down by 25 percent to 355,000 mt, both quarter on quarter.
