Metinvest sees 3.9 percent rise in crude steel output in 2011

The Ukrainian mining and steel producing group Metinvest has announced that in 2011 its crude steel production increased by 3.9 percent to 14.375 million mt compared to 13.835 million mt in 2010. In addition, in 2011 Metinvest also produced 12.385 million mt of pig iron, up 4.5 percent year on year.

In 2011, the coking coal production of Metinvest increased by 12.3 percent year on year to 11.339 million mt. In the given year, Metinvest produced 35.741 million mt of iron ore concentrate, compared to 35.726 million mt produced in 2010.
