Mechel’s crude steel output rises by 13 percent in Jan-Sept

Mechel, one of the leading Russian mining and steel groups, has announced that its crude steel output in the January-September period of the current year increased by 13 percent to 5.1 million mt compared to the same period of last year.
 
In January-September this year, Mechel’s pig iron output rose by 16 percent to 3.1 million mt, while its coal production improved by five percent to 20.8 million mt, both year on year.
 
In the given period, the company's coking coke sales saw a three percent decrease year on year to 9.029 million mt, while its thermal coal sales decreased by 11 percent to 4.49 million mt.
