Mechel pays dividends based on 2009 fiscal year results

Mechel, one of the leading Russian mining and steel groups, has announced dividend payments (including taxes) of approximately $30 million to its shareholders, based on its results for the 2009 fiscal year.

Accordingly, the amount of funds allocated to pay the annual dividend is approximately 40 percent of Mechel's net profit for 2009 according to US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
