Mechel announces 2006 financial results

One of the leading Russian mining and steel groups, Mechel, today announced its financial results for the full year ended December 31, 2006.

According to the company's release, in 2006 Mechel's revenue increased by 15.6 percent, its net operating income by 40 percent, net income by 58.3 percent and EBITDA by 47.1 percent year on year. The respective figures in US$ were 4.4 billion, 726 million, 603 million and 1.068 million. The company's EBITDA margin increased from 19.1 percent in 2005 to 24.3 percent in 2006.
