Canadian-based manganese company Maxtech Ventures Inc. said it has signed a joint venture agreement to work with Daniel Geyerhahn Garcia of Goldmen Resources Brazil and his partners on various mining claims in Bahia state.

According to Maxtech, the JV will explore and evaluate the potential for acquisition of mineral deposits of manganese and vanadium as well as what it called “other strategic minerals” in Minas Gerais state.

“This agreement provides the framework and opportunity for Maxtech to access projects currently owned or currently under negotiation,” it said.

The company said the JV will help it advance claims with its trail mining licenses up to the next state at Brazilian department of mining production, DNPM, for small-scale mining consents.

“The first claims are in the Cipó mountain range, Espinhaço chain, which represents the watershed between the Atlantic Ocean and the São Francisco River basin in the East of Brazil,” it noted.

Maxtech inked a similar deal in July last year with local ferroalloys producer Maringa Ferro-Liga SA for a “joint evaluation, exploration and potential acquisition of project specific manganese assets in Brazil.”
