Masteel’s slag processing project receives government support

On February 26, Anhui Province-based Chinese steelmaker Magang Group (Masteel) announced that its new slag processing project has been approved for financial support worth RMB 10 million ($1.6 million) by China’s central government.
 
The project will include construction of a converter slag processing plant, a large slag treatment center, and other related supporting facilities. The annual slag processing capacity of the facilities will be 1.525 million mt, while they are expected to help reduce Masteel’s costs and provide environmental benefits.
