Masteel exports 100,000 mt of alloy steel products in Q1

On April 2, Anhui Province-based Chinese steelmaker Maanshan Iron and Steel (Masteel) announced that in the first quarter this year it exported a total of 100,000 mt of alloy steel products, including alloy wire rod, alloy H-beam and alloy hot rolled cutting plate, mainly to Southeast Asia and to South American countries.
 
In the second half of 2012, Masteel successfully focused on the Indian and South American markets in terms of its overall steel exports, with its export volume to these two regions accounting for over 50 percent of its total exports for the period. Furthermore, high value-added steel plate accounted for a 56 percent share of the total export volume.
