Malaysia’s iron and steel sales value down 2.95 percent in April

In April this year, Malaysia's manufacturing sales value decreased by 0.6 percent year on year to MYR 52.9 billion ($14.09 billion), while in seasonally adjusted terms the sales value decreased by 9.3 percent as compared with the preceding month, according to Malaysia's Department of Statistics. In the January-April period, the sales value of the manufacturing sector reached MYR 220.6 billion ($58.74 billion), up 1.1 percent year on year.
 
In April, the sales value of Malaysian basic iron and steel products totaled MYR 1.77 billion ($427.19 million), decreasing by 1.47 percent month on month and falling by 2.95 percent year on year.
