Malaysian Megasteel plans to revamp its EAFs this year
SteelOrbis is reported that Megasteel Sdn Bhd, hot rolled strip producer of
Malaysia located near Port Klang, is planning to upgrade its EAFs in late 2003. Megasteel, established in 1997, has a 2.5 million tonns of annual capacity and uses the Electric Arc Furnace-Compact Strip
Production (CSP) process which has the latest thin
slab casting technology enables the company to produce high quality flat steel with a considerable high
production efficiency and energy savings lowering the
production costs.
