Major Chinese steel firms see aggregate net loss of RMB 5.5 billion in Jan-Sept

On October 31, China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) issued financial results for China’s steel sector in the January-September period of the current year.
 
According to the NDRC, in the January-September period the aggregate sales revenue of 80 large and medium-sized steelmaking enterprises in China indicated a year-on-year decline. The total net loss of the 80 enterprises in question in the given period reached over RMB 5.5 billion ($873 million). In the first three quarters of this year, 45 percent of the given enterprises posted a net loss.
