A Louisiana state panel has approved using $20 million in state Mega Project funding to bring Benteler Steel to the Port of Caddo-Bossier.  According to local reports, the funds will go toward infrastructure improvements and site/facility development for a new manufacturing plant that will cost a total of about $892 million.

The port, parish governments in Caddo and Bossier, Bossier Parish Community College and Bossier City have agreed to make contributions of services or funding to facilitate the project, which will create an estimated 675 jobs from which the state expects to receive $183 million in personal income tax revenues over 15 years.
