LNM plans to invest in Ukraine

According to recent news in the market, Lakshmi Mittal, owner of world's second biggest steel producer LNM, had a meeting with Ukraine President Leonid Kuchma. In the meeting, Lakshmi Mittal mentioned his plan of investing in Ukraine's metal sector and forming joint venture companies as well. In return for Mittal's plan, Leonid Kuchma, stating that Ukraine's economy is stable, expressed that he has a positive attitude towards the issue. As previously reported by SteelOrbis, LNM has made several investments worldwide with the purpose of becoming the top steel producer in the world. The most recent one was related with the establishment of cold rolling mill in China. Besides, it made investments in Romania, South Africa and Poland. LNM's investment in Ukraine can be interpreted as a part of company's plan of becoming world's top steel producer.
