Liuzhou’s No.8 blast furnace operational

The successful firing of Liuzhou Steel’s No.8 blast furnace marked the conclusion of nearly six months of intensive overhauls by the Chinese steelmaker. At 1250 cubic meters, the RMB 310 million ($37.46 million) No.8 blast furnace is Liuzhou’s largest. With a designed average utilization coefficient of 2.4, the No.8 blast furnace can produce 3’000 tons of pig iron daily and 1.05 million tons annually. Liuzhou began work on the No.8 blast furnace on September 22, 2004.
