Linyi Steel Group to start stainless steel project construction in February

The first stage of stainless steel project of Chinese steelmaker Linyi Steel Group will start construction in February this year, as announced by the Bureau of Ecology and Environment of Linyi city in Shandong Province. The project will be equipped with one 90 mt electric arc furnace, one 30 mt alloy melting furnace, one 90 mt AOD refining furnace, one 90 mt LF refining furnace, one 90 mt VOD refining furnace, one single flow slab casting machine, and related auxiliary facilities.

After the completion of the project, the annual output of stainless steel slab will amount to 700,000 mt. The stainless steel project will produce high-end stainless steel, including 300 series, 400 series and duplex stainless steel, which will be used in the fields of petrochemicals, nuclear power and the military, automobile, water and construction industries. 

Construction work on the project will last from February 2020 to February 2022.
