Linfen produces one third of pig iron output in Shanxi in 2011

In 2011, the pig iron output of the city of Linfen in China's Shanxi Province accounted for around one third of the province's pig iron output in the given year, according to local media sources.
 
At present, the city of Linfen has 41 steel enterprises with a total of 58 blast furnaces, capable of producing around 20.76 million mt of pig iron each year.
 
In 2011, the outputs of pig iron, crude steel and finished steel in the city of Linfen respectively amounted to 10.54 million mt, 8.64 million mt and 9.43 million mt, up 18.52 percent, 12.19 percent and 31.01 percent year on year. The pig iron output constituted 31.3 percent of the total output in the province.
