According to the European Commission, within the scope of the merger between ArcelorMittal and Italian steelmaker Ilva, Liberty House Group will also acquire four steel service centers in Arcore, Rieti, Quarto Inferiore, and Graffignana, Italy, from ArcelorMittal CLN Distribuzione Italia S.r.l., pursuant to a separate agreement.

It was previously agreed that Liberty would buy four European steel plants from ArcelorMittal, namely, Galati in Romania, Ostrava in the Czech Republic, and the rolling mills at Skopje in Macedonia and Piombino in Italy, in addition to the Dudelange and Liege plants in Luxembourg and Belgium.

ArcelorMittal’s divestment of these plants is required by the European Commission as part of its merger control investigation into the company’s acquisition of Ilva.
