Latin America’s crude steel production declines 11 percent in March

Latin America’s crude steel production in March dropped 11 percent, year-on-year, to 5.16 million mt, according to the region’s steel association, Alacero.

As for Q1, Latin American crude steel output reached 15.4 million mt, 5 percent down, year-on-year.

Alacero said Latin America’s finished steel production in March totaled 4.48 million mt, 8 percent down, year-on-year.

As for Q1, the region’s finished steel output volume was 12.7 million mt, 6 percent down, year-on-year.
