Large coalfield discovered in China’s Xinjiang region

A large coalfield with 81 billion mt of reserves has recently been discovered by the Xinjiang Bureau of Geology and Mineral Exploration in the Tacheng district of China’s Xinjiang autonomous region, as announced by the bureau.
 
The thickness of the coal bed at the new coalfield called Heshituoluogai is almost 60 m. The main reserves consist of long-flame coal as well as coking coal. The coalfield has attracted the interest of more than 20 companies including China Power Investment Corp., Luneng Group and Xuzhou Coal Mining Group.
