Kunming Steel starts to dry 2,500 cubic meter blast furnace

Yunnan Province-based Chinese steelmaker Kunming Iron and Steel Group (Kunming Steel) has started to dry its new 2,500 cubic meter capacity blast furnace within the scope of its pig iron smelting project at its new plant site at Caopu in the city of Anning, Yunnan, according to China Metallurgical Group Corporation's (MCC) subsidiary China 19th Metallurgical Group Corporation, which is responsible for construction work on the project.
 
The project broke ground on October 15, 2010. Kunming Steel had completed drying of its new hot-blast stove on November 1 this year.
