Indonesia-based steelmaker PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk (PT KS) has announced that government infrastructure projects will continue to provide a positive impact for the iron and steel industry in Indonesia. In the third quarter of this year, the company started to record an increase in sales volumes thanks to the infrastructure projects in the country.

According to the company, it is seeking to meet the demand for steel products from infrastructure projects of state-owned enterprises, including a bridge project, a cement plant project, a gas pipeline project, and a project for electricity transmission lines. The company stated that in the June-August period this year it signed agreements to supply steel to PT NS Bluescope Indonesia, PT Fumira, Cedex Steel and Metals Pty Ltd, and PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN).
