Korea’s exports to Chile gain momentum

The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) disclosed that the country's exports to Chile rose 58.7% year on year since a free trade agreement (FTA) between the two countries went into effect in April 2004. Korea's shipments to Chile in the above mentioned period reached $735 million, said the KITA. Korea's main export items to Chile were cars, mobile phones, color TVs and petrochemical products. Imports from Chile rose 54.3% to $1.75 billion during the same period, causing a trade deficit of $1.02 billion.
