Kobe Steel to establish regional headquarters in Thailand

Japanese steelmaker Kobe Steel Ltd has announced that it has established a Thailand-based subsidiary called Kobelco South East Asia Ltd (KSEA) to oversee operations in Southeast Asia and South Asia and that it will also open its regional headquarters in Bangkok in August this year. The largest number of Kobe Steel subsidiaries in Southeast Asia and South Asia are located in Thailand, which is also where Kobe Steel expects business centered on the automotive sector to grow.

According to the company’s statement, along with regional headquarters in the United States and China, KSEA will serve as the central base to strengthen corporate governance, compliance and other aspects of business management. By promoting business efficiency, Kobe Steel aims to achieve continued growth in the two regions.
