Iranian steelmaker Khouzestan Steel produced 2.16 million mt of semi-finished steel (billet, bloom and slab) in the first nine months of the current Iranian year (started March 21), representing an increase of 19 percent compared to the same period of the last Iranian year - according to the new data announced by Khouzestan Steel managing director Abdolmajid Sharif.

By the end of the current Iranian year, Khouzestan Steel expects to achieve an output of 2.85 million metric tons of semi-finished steel.

Khouzestan Steel has raised its output steadily since it upgraded some of its steelmaking equipment and started running its new DRI module, Zam Zam II, in 2009.
