Khorasan Steel begins new pelletizing plant project

Iranian steel producer Khorasan Steel started the construction of a 2.5 million mt pelletizing plant in December 2010. The plant, which is to be constructed by Parsland Mines & Industries Development Co. within 30 months, will be expandable to a capacity of 3.4 million mt per year.

Khorasan Steel has recently put into operation its two direct reduction modules, each with a capacity of 800,000 mt per year. It also plans to set up a new melt-shop, and will in addition upgrade its existing melt-shop.
