In January-April this year, Ukrainian pipe producer Khartsyzsk Pipe Works (KhPW), a subsidiary of Ukraine's largest vertically-integrated mining and steel group Metinvest, exported 192,000 mt of steel pipes to Russia, 2.5 times more than in the same period last year.

For reference, in January-April this year KhPW had produced 210,000 mt of steel pipes, 194 percent higher compared to the same period of 2010.

Due to strong buying interest from Russian customers, the company plans to produce 540,000 mt of steel pipes in 2011, up 74.8 percent year on year, including 300,000 mt of steel pipes for export to Russia, three times more than in 2010.
