Kazakhstan’s crude steel output down 20.5 percent in January-August

According to the State Statistics Committee of Kazakhstan, in the January-August period of the current year Kazakhstan produced 2.655 million mt of crude steel, down 20.5 percent year on year.
 
Production of flat steel in Kazakhstan in the January-August period of this year decreased by 14.6 percent to 1.799 million mt, while domestic production of galvanized rolled steel in this period declined by 12.7 percent to 366,057 mt, both year on year.
 
In the first eight months of 2012, Kazakhstan saw its ferroalloy production rise by 0.7 percent year on year to 1.136 million mt.
