Kazakhstan issues January-July production results

According to the data released by the Republic of Kazakhstan's Agency of Statistics, in the first seven months of this year the country registered a 7.6 percent increase year on year in its crude steel production but a 6.8 percent year-on-year decrease in its production of flat rolled steel, to 2.4 million mt and 1.61 million mt respectively. Meanwhile, the country's tinplate production for the given period amounted to 130,522 mt - up 15.8 percent compared to January-July 2009.
 
In January-July this year, Kazakhstan's output of ferroalloys increased by 31.8 percent year on year to one million mt, its iron ore production increased by 144 percent to 29.16 million mt, while its iron ore pellet production went up by 79 percent to 4.71 million mt, all compared to the same period last year.
