According to the data released by the Republic of Kazakhstan's Agency of Statistics, in the first four months of 2007 the country registered a 13.4 percent increase in its crude steel production, a 17.5 percent increase in its production of flat rolled, and a 2.9 percent rise in its ferroalloys production year on year.
The respective figures in metric tons were 1.5 million, 1.09 million and 560,044.
In addition, during the January-April 2007 period, the country produced 7.5 million metric tons of iron ore, showing a 5.5 percent year on year increase.
