Kazakhstan increases steel production in January-May

According to the State Statistics Committee of Kazakhstan, in January-May of the current year the country produced 2.069 million mt of steel, up 26.1 percent year on year.


Production of steel coils increased by 22.4 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2010, rising to 1.371 million mt.


In the first five months of 2011, Kazakhstan increased its ferroalloy production by 0.8 percent year on year to 706,616 mt.
